Anyone who watches soccer, or even if they don’t, remembers French legend Zinedine Zidane ending his career at the 2006 World Cup with a shocking head butt to Italian defender Marco Materazzi’s chest.
It was a bizarre moment I’m sure he’d like to forget, so it might come as a bit of a surprise that the incident has now been cast in bronze in Paris outside the Pompidou Center, the city’s modern art museum. I don’t understand it either, but I like it.
Waking up on a Saturday morning in Britain certainly has its plus points. A full English breakfast, cup of tea, talk about last night antics and watching Soccer Am.
About 11am every morning it’s business time as Max Rushden (the presenter) names it. Soccerettes are part of the reason we get up and part of the reason we don’t get up.
Fit, young, toned and looking drop dead gorgeous it’s a good life to be a soccer fan when you see the crumpet available. I’ve tried to include the best ones available, any missing off here you can find on the soccer am website.
One of the best things that is currently happening with sport over the last 10-15 years is the introduction of more female football fans. Whether it’s American Football or Soccer Football the girls just love to show up and gain as much attention as they can.
We’ve selected 91 awesome pictures of girls from both sides of the pond, wearing any sport related shirt. We’ve chosen not to include Cheerleaders but will certainly be making an article about them shortly so stay tuned.
Enjoy 91 amazingly gorgeous women sporting some awesome football shirts…
Sporting moments are made up of the sublime and the grime. You’ll either be remembered for the right reasons or the wrong reasons. Unfortunately most of these people will be remembered for all the wrong reasons.
We’ve compiled this list of the 34 embarrassing moments in sport (14 Videos 20 Pictures), please let us know your favourite moments and which ones we might have overlooked.
A beautiful bounce which just summed up England‘s Qualifying campaign. Paul Robinson was the victim of a cruel divet in the pitch. This still doesn’t takeaway the fact he was half assing the kick and just didn’t prepare himself properly.
Chris Webber Time Out – Basketball
Nothing I can say on this video except WHAT???
Overconfident Cyclist – Cycling
You never ever celebrate a win until the whistle has gone or you’ve passed the finish line. I’m still personally waiting to see Usain Bolt trip up by getting to cocky.
Luckily we have this clip to enjoy until that moment happens.
Adam Waddell – Basketball
I love this back flip purely for his big cheesy smile afterwards. The smile seems to say “haha how funny was that” but really states “haha oh god my neck hurts and I can’t walk properly”
I have no idea if any long term damage was done but it’s a hell of a move.
One Punch Knockout – Hockey
Hockey is a sport of many different attributes, speed, technique, power and strength. This guy unfortunately fails on all 4 counts and gets his ass handed to him majorly in front of 6,000 fans.
Not to say it wasn’t a good punch or that he deserved it, but well it got handed to him..
Despite this massive error Jim Marshall has gone down as one of the greats in American Football for many reasons. Unfortunately for Jim the reason most people will remember him for is this enormous error.
It’s a great run to the endzone just the wrong way Jim.
Patrik Stefan Misses Open Net – Hockey
The miss in this clip reaks of unbelievable. His teammates can’t believe it, the fans can’t believe it and well the other team cannot believe their luck when they score with just seconds remaining.
Luck can be cruel but not concentrating properly is just your own fault.
Scoring an own goal is one of sports worst feelings. This clip not only combines that misery but adds a ball in the face to the equation too.
Chris Brass unfortunately isn’t the most talented lad in football, but he’ll certainly be remembered for this..
Soccer Flip Throw – Sunday League Team
Many questions have to be asked about this clip. 1, why is the kid standing directly in front of him? All be it, if he wants to mark the guy once the throw in is done then just stand a little to the side? 2. How painful and embarassing is that clip!
He’ll never ever let this down. At all.
Shay Given Blooper – Newcastle
Shay Given is probably one of the best goalkeepers in the Premiership. Not many compare to his ability in shot stopping and he’s been a reliable goalkeeper for Newcastle and Man City for a number of years now.
I’m sure Shay though really felt a wally in this clip. Always check behind you because there are some very cheeky and cunning strikers.
Leon Lett Fumble – Dallas Cowboys
Poor old Leon Lett a class act. So many bloopers could have been picked for good old Leon in this list but the fumble right at the end just clinched it for us.
He’s smile after the call has been made just lets you know, he’s alright…..
Jens Lehmann takes a wizz – Germany
The Germans are always getting their junk out for one reason or another. Whether it’s a nudist beach in Greece or a football game in front of 80,000. German’s really have no care about who sees what and where they do their business.
You’d be gutted though if it was a windy day and you were directly behind Lens…
Henrik Andersen falls through – Leksand
Nothing in life feels as good as scoring a goal in front of adoring fans. Whether it’s a peawee league match or on a professional stage, it’s the same feeling, pure adrenaline pumping round your system.
Unfortunately for Henrik Andersen this caused him to celebrate a little more than perhaps he would have, say a team mate scored it. I’m sure the bump on his head soon awakened him from the gooey joy filled coma.
Elizabeth Lambert is Psycho – New Mexico
Not many things shock the world of soccer any longer. The usual over dramatic diving and more often than not predictable scorelines, but when word was released of a psycho hair pulling and punching opponents. Every single soccer fan logged on youtube to watch this nutter. Was it the next Stuart Pearce, the next Roy Keane? Nope some American high school girl called Elizabeth Lambert.
Watching the clip though it’s alot worse than it sounds. At the age of 15 Elizabeth has actually developed a evil streak on the pitch. While most footballers will get kicked, taunted and the odd elbow here and there Elizabeth has deliberately gone out to hurt her opponents, a little shocking and something that’s just not needed.
