If you’re one of those people who tend to get lost on your way home for some reason — you may have a drinking problem — the No Place Like Home shoes might be exactly what you’re looking for.
Designed by Dominic Wilcox, the shoes have a built-in GPS navigation system. Enter your destination by USB using the software provided, then activate the system by clicking your heels together and the LED lights on the toe of each shoe will guide you home. One foot tell you which direction to head and the other tells you how much longer to walk.

I don’t normally drink a whole lot of tea, but if I did I’d need to have this thing. The Sharky Tea Infuser, created by Argentinean designer Pablo Matteoda, will be sure to impress your guest. SImply fill the infuser with your favorite loose tea, put on the rubber fin-shaped top, and let the shark swim around the cup with a cool creepy effect.

I’m not sure I know of anyone who still uses an alarm clock, that’s what mobile phones are for, but if you still find an extremely loud electronic buzzer a soothing way to wake up, this is for you. It’s called Flat Time, and it’s pretty damn cool. It’s an image of an alarm clock with a 7-segment LED display to tell time.

I like a nice cold beer as much as the next guy, but I don’t have any plans to turn my empties into light fixtures. A company called Peared Creation has done just that with their Vintage Brewery Bottle Lamps that would fit right in at the local pub. They all include vintage, pre-prohibition glass, turned on and off by rotating a valve and sell for upwards of $120. They have lots of cool styles and designs.

If you’re one of those people who can’t be bothered to look out the window to get your weather report, a new toaster concept designed to print your morning forecast on your toast might be exactly what you’re looking for. The Jamy, created by designer Nathan Brunstein, is a smart toaster equipped with a built-in barometer and thermometer.
Cloudy with a chance of butter.

On September 15th as part of Nuit Blanche Calgary, artist Caitland r.c. Brown created an awesome large scale installation called CLOUD. The piece is made with 1000 working light bulbs on pull-chains and another 5000 burnt out lights donated by the public. Visitors can pull the chains causing the cloud to sort of shimmer and flicker.
Check out the video below to see the installation action.

I’m not exactly someone who uses coasters all that often, I like making the Olympic rings with my glass sweat, but after seeing these bad boys I might have to start.
Artist Nir Hod has created this set of four mirrored coaster, called The Night You Left, that have been digitally printed with little white lines of “powder”. You can come to your own conclusions as to what type of powder it is, but I think we all know what’s going on here.

After pretty much every one of my hockey games, someone forgets to bring a bottle opener — we like our non twist-off imports — that won’t be a problem anymore thanks to the Leverage Bottle Opener. For twenty bucks you can get this credit card sized (3.375″ x 2.125″ x 0.59″), carbon fiber bottle opener that really packs a punch.
Now if they could somehow incorporate this into actual credit cards we’d be in business.
