10 Horrific Soccer Leg Injuries
When the word football (soccer) springs to an American‘s mind it usually involves some pansy, namely Cristano Ronaldo rolling around on the floor like he’s taken a bullet. While unfortunately scenes like that are growing increasingly common the sport is still a tough one to play, mentally and physically.
We here at SweatyGooch have compiled 15 of what we feel are the most horrific leg injuries ever in football. All are real pictures and all have real pain and blood.
If you are squeamish, do not move further down the page. It is Graphic.
ENJOY!

Kieron Dyer – West Ham vs Bristol Rovers
A real nasty injury for poor old Kieron. It wasn’t he’s first injury but perhaps certainly his last. He has yet to come back from the injury despite it being well over 2 years ago. Best of luck!

Alan Smith – Man Utd vs Liverpool
Man Utd derbies against Liverpool are one of the most heated in Britain. Unfortunately for Alan it was inevitable something would happen, shame it ended up like this. Thankfully Alan is back playing for Newcastle United now.
——————————————————————————————————
Henrik Larsson – Celtic vs Lyon
While Larsson was out for around 8 months he still came back into the game better and fitter then ever. He’s become probably one of if not the best player Sweden has ever produced.
——————————————————————————————————
Djibril Cisse – France vs China
One of the unluckiest players in the game, Djibril Cisse has broken his leg twice. Once for France and another playing for Liverpool, his back playing now thankfully and we hope it’s the last time it happens.
——————————————————————————————————
Luc Nilis – Aston Villa vs Ipswich
One real nasty break this one especially with the action shot that was captured at exactly the right moment. Unreal!
——————————————————————————————————
David Busst – Coventry vs Man Utd
An unbelievable tackle caused this horrific injury. Busst had more operations than you can possibly imagine. Luckily he still has his leg.
——————————————————————————————————
Eduardo – Arsenal vs Everton
A clean break, Eduardo is thankfully back from the injury but this tackle was a huge talking point in English football. Disgusting.
——————————————————————————————————
Francesco Totti – Roma vs Empoli
Just look at the way his leg faces the complete other way to his feet and we might understand just how horrific that injury was.
——————————————————————————————————
Jacob Olsen – Unknown. Viborg Player
The pain in Jacob’s face is one of either amazing disbelief or amazing pain. I’m yet to decide either way this is nasty
——————————————————————————————————
Edgar Andrade – Cruz Azul vs Tecos UAG
Possibly the most nastiest looking break out of all 10. Luckily for Edgar he returned to player football many months later. That is one lucky fella!
